August 3

Exercise
AM: Swimming - 425m

Went to the pool this morning, mainly to babysit while my wife swam. She's starting to get back into her fitness stuff too (after almost 11 months off with the pregnancy). We had to pay for me to get in, so I figured I may as well do a couple of laps. I was surprised how well I went, considering it's been a hell of a long time (5+ years) since I've done laps. Felt really good - I didn't push myself to the limit, it was more just a bit of fun. We're planning on doing it every Saturday, so that should be great.

No yoga tonight though because of, um, the footy :-) Sometimes you have to prioritise. And sometimes you have to have a beer or 4 while prioritising :-D

As mentioned yesterday, it was a tough night last night. Because it was disturbed I was up early, but could be bothered going for a run.

No exercise again this morning. Just so hard to get out of bed when the baby's in there and feels like cuddles :)

Looking forward to weights tonight. A bit sore from Tuesday, but it should be great.

Weights was good tonight. Had a lot of fun. Unfortunately it was a bad night baby related, so late to bed and not a whole lot of sleep.

2 August

Exercise
AM: None
PM: None

Food
Meal 1: Shake
Meal 2: Lentil loaf and broccoli
Meal 3: Dahl and rice
Meal 4: Vegemite crumpets
Meal 5: Shake, vegemite tortilla
Meal 6: Tacos (baked + refried beans, spinach, cottage cheese, taco shells)

Had a great sleep last night. Unfortunately I was so buzzed after weights that I didn't get to bed until 11:30. That made getting up at 5:30 for a run pretty unlikely :-) The sleep in was nice though, and to be honest I'd prefer to have that after a big session if I need it.

Woke up feeling the best I have in weeks. I think sometimes a few weeks off lifting is beneficial, purely because the good feeling is such a surprise that it keeps you motivated for ages :)

Will try and fit my run in tongiht. My wife's keen to fo for a run too, so we might be able to go together with the baby. Haven't run with a pram before... will be interesting.

1 August

Exercise
AM: 30 min yoga
PM: Weights - 8x3 bench, row and dead.

Food
Meal 1: Shake
Meal 2: Vegemite crumpets
Meal 3: Dahl and rice
Meal 4: Lentil loaf + broccoli
Meal 5: Shake, vegemite tortilla
Meal 5: Steamed potoato and broccoli, vegemite tortilla

Was meant to run this morning, but when I couldn't touch my toes warming up I thought I might better use the time with some yoga, especially as I've got weights tonight.

Weights was fantastic. Took a little while to get into it, but as always by the time I finished I was full of beans. I cut the number of sets back to 8 (will change the prog appropriately) because this seemed to fit nicely into an hour, which is all the time I have.
